Naked woman arrested [for unauthorized use of a movable] after stealing cab in Covington, Louisiana

A Michigan woman allegedly took off her clothes before stealing a cab outside the Covington Police station early Sunday morning, authorities said.

A cab driver picked Jennifer Gille, 29, up from a motel in Covington about 1 a.m. Sunday and drove her to Harrison Avenue south of the city, Covington Police spokesman Capt. Jack West said. However, once they arrived at her destination Gille refused to get out of the cab and began behaving erratically, West said.

Gille first took off her clothing and then demanded that the cab driver take her to Michigan, West said.

The driver was unable to get the woman to leave the cab, so he drove to the Covington Police station to get help, West said. He briefly left the cab to get an officer and, in the few moments he was out of the vehicle, the woman jumped into the front seat and drove off, he said.

Gille parked the cab about a block from the police station and officers found her there a short time later, West said. The woman had moved to the back seat of the cab and was still naked, he said.

Officers had to force the woman out of the vehicle and pull her dress on for her, West said.

Officers tried to speak with Gille but she refused to cooperate and appeared to be intoxicated, he said.

Gille, of St. Clair Shores, was booked into the St. Tammany Parish jail in Covington with unauthorized use of a movable and obscenity.
