1986 Ole Miss and Oxford home movie scenes:
3:11 – Xmas parade: I think that’s John King’s truck with Colonel Reb in the back.
3:36 – Willie Morris introducing Alex Haley on campus in Nutt Auditorium.
4:17 – Barry and Susan Hannah greeting Billy Brewer at the Hoka.
4:20 – Billy Brewer talking with Alex Haley at the Hoka.
4:26 – Bill Ferris toasting Alex Haley at the Hoka.
4:37 – Son Thomas performing at the Hoka.
4:47 – Boogaloo Barnes (I think) and Charlie Jacobs performing at the Hoka.
9:00 – Ole Miss basketball in the Tad Pad
I see that the Northern District will continue divided, according to today’s “Bar Briefs”:
Request Withdrawn To Eliminate Statutory Divisions in Northern District
In October the Bar published a notice on behalf of the Judicial Council of the Fifth Circuit. The notice, along with articles in Bar Briefs, requested input from members of The Mississippi Bar on a request by the judges of the Northern District of Mississippi to eliminate statutory divisions. The notice included background information and solicited anonymous comments from members of the Bar. Last week the Bar was notified by the Fifth Circuit that the judges of the Northern District of Mississippi have agreed by consensus to withdraw their request to eliminate statutory divisions at this time. Thank you to those of you who provided comments.

Nice memories there Chico. I really, really miss the Hoka, Charlie Jacobs (Tangents/Charlie B Luv — Luv night at Syd and Harrys), Boogaloo (performing anywhere in the Delta), and Son Thomas at the Hoka. RIP, all three are sorely missed.
Yes on Luv Night! Tuesdays in Spring, 1988, I believe.
