If you like take-down reviews, rhetorical questions, or hating on annoying Food Network personality Guy Fieri, Pete Wells has a review to be read in the Wednesday NY Times. A favorite touch: In the section where the reviews summarize the place (atmosphere, recommended dishes, etc.) there’s this:
SERVICE The well-meaning staff seems to realize that this is not a real restaurant.

That was withering, just like Roundup on weeds.
One of my favorite reviews:

That is a classic, CRS. Wouldn’t surprise me if Wells consciously aspired to writing his own equivalent.
Good reviews. Thanks for posting. I feel sufficiently forewarned ….
An interesting thing about Moose Murders. Several community theatres have done informal productions. Really more readings with partial stagings and props. I think it would be a hoot.
I used to live a block away, at 120 W 44th. Best BBQ I’ve ever had is at 152: Virgil’s. Worth a stop if you’re in those parts; don’t fill up on the biscuits with maple butter, save room for the ribs.
One of the best I’ve ever read! Thanks Tom! CRS, pretty awesome too!
