Bacon and Hams: Did Harper Lee know about this book?

The later is from the 1912 book Bacon and Hams, which these guys at the French Culinary Institute is the best book ever on the subject.   The Culinary Institute bloggers also scanned and made a Flash animation of the beautiful frontispiece from Bacon and Hams. My wife was the first to note the bacon and ham question posed in the title.

    I like this, “I have many pig books” but my favorite is that wheel. Maybe the next food show. Squeel of fortune! Squeel a meal. The Fancy dress ball guy looks like the member of a band opening for the Smashing Pumpkins.
