The ties to the 911 plotters and the radical cleric should prompt a review of ALL Muslim soldiers in the military. I know by the numbers this guy can’t be the only one with extremist Muslim views serving in the military. Those soldiers should be thrown out before we see more attacks on our troops. I would even support these guys being charged with treason during wartime. Subversives have NO place in the military.

History of Germany in the post-WWI era teaches us what proposals such as yours do to a democratic nation. Let the military take care of their personnel ... they have a lot more experience with misfits and dirtbags than you do.

I regret to the core of my being what Maj. Hasan did, but I am fulla pride for the way he was taken down and hospitalized, rather than summarily hanged from the nearest lamppost, and for the fair trial he will get under the UCMJ.

The situation is well in hand. The Constitution prevails.

What if it wasn't a mooslim or McCoy? What if it was a circuit court Judge. Or an attorney? what if it was the guy down the street. What if it was your million dollar savings. And what if that act was protected by a system of crooks controling law enforcement and the court. Knee jerk answers: You were saying.

Hatfield, I'm curious: Have you served in the military? If so, in what capacity, and did you receive any senior leadership or command training that included meaningful UCMJ exposure?

Reason I'm asking, is after 8 years of Active Duty and 3.5 in the OIF/OEF combat zones, my experience with / opinion of the military is very, very different from yours.

Hatfield I share your concerns. However Let me get this straight. When 911 occurred and the only people allowed to fly around were the terrorist's family. And that was so they could leave the U.S.
The story here is that everyone felt this guy was bad. Coulda woulda shoulda.

Then all the killing on both sides after all these years. Its oops we were killing the wrong people. Then the last commanders mistake was greed for oil?

If the thinking is that soldiers can't trust one another. Our armed forces are done for. The present day wrong of our doings, 2012, and 8-0 the end is surely here.

Robert my statement was geared towards the investigation into Muslim soldiers in the military. Any hint of radical views or associations with terrorist should be investigated with or without the soldiers knowledge. No Warrants required. Our Military has the authority and the power to do so but with a weak commander in chief we shall see where these investigations go and how the guilty would be punished. These soldiers are aiding the enemy and must be weeded out.

I look at Obama's pre-campaign promises about Afghanistan and now the american public watches as he tries to wiggle out of the promise to catch those responsible for 911 and bring the war to the real terrorist in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is clear that our Military commanders need more troops to get the job done. Obama doesn't seem to have the guts to listen to his commanders on the ground. A weak military minded president is BAD NEWS when the country is at war.

Obama did well in explaining the courage of those who die. Hopefully God wiil comfort the familes and love ones.

Hatfield I was wondering what was implied, in that rights as a civilian are diffrent than a soldier?
It appears the miitary is maybe more on top of their game than the civilian courts are.

I was with Obama re: our soliders their stories and sacrifice. However the part of "we wre a country of laws caring for the right of the murder to as a matter of due process. Did he also say but not our civilians? Being held in abeyance of my civil rights of action in MS.courts. The occassional bitch slap I get from stories of the country's history of justice and why it exist!. excuse me while I vomit.

I look at a map of our country and it does appear MS. is on the map. Bad wiring?
