This makes me dizzy
So in the AP poll, Ole Miss drops from 4 to 21, and in the USA Today coaches poll, from 5 to 18.
Ouch. Oh, and LSU takes Ole Miss’s place at 4 (in both polls). I send a general raspberry in Kingfish’s direction, and note that “taking Ole Miss’s place” may include a pretty precipitous fall.

Off Belay!
LSU not a number four team and I predict UGA will beat LSU. They’ve owned us the last few times so until we get closer than 30 points, I favor UGA. ALTHOUGH UGA has shown no defense this year but considering we have an O Line that plays like crap right now and a D Line that doesn’t stop the run and never stunts or blitzes not to mention a new qb, I predict we lost to UGA and wind up at 16 or 17, then lost to Florida and get dropped.
State fan here. I think Ole Miss is definitely a top 20 team and I would rank them at #15, right now. We missed a shot to beat LSU (they are a top 15 team, too), our best shot in a decade, but I am encouraged by the quality or our play, on both sides of the ball. I think Mullen is a pretty good coach. I think Nutt is a pretty good coach. But, to make the NC game, OM needs to run out the table (but, that loss in the Egg Bowl will put an end to that), and beat a consensus # 1 Florida in the SEC Championship Game. Best of luck, Rebs.
LSU moving to No. 4 shows that lots of the pollsters pay attention to nothing other than their poll from the previous week, scores, and who gets the W and the L. LSU did not look good against State and did not deserve whatsoever to win that game at all. they luck out (very tough to swallow).
In fact, LSU should’ve dropped a spot or two after it. They play UGA, Auburn, and Fla in their next 3 games. I could easily see them losing 2 of those 3 and possibly all 3.
It’s looking now like Bama and Fla are heading to Atl. If I had to rank a team at No. 1 right now, I hate to say it but it would be Bama.
Ole Miss is gonna have a good season. They were just a bit overrated.
Jaxrelief we should just quit the season now and have the championship game this weekend. I think both Alabama and Florida will lose one maybe two games each before its over. The SEC is a tough place to play and there are no easy games in the conference. As far as LSU “looking good” I was at the game and there were several AWESOME plays made by LSU. State made some as well. It was a good game and the goal line stand at the end is something I think will really pump the tigers up going into the game with GA.
Just wondering about things I know more about than I understand. But riddle me this: If Notre Dame, or Michigan, or Penn State, or Ohio State, or So Cal, had been ranked No. 4 nationally, then lost to South Carolina 16-10, do you think for a minute that they would have dropped 17 or 18 slots?
Me neither.
