I am Tom Freeland, a lawyer in Oxford, Mississippi. The picture in the header is my law office. I'm on Twitter as NMissC
I started (co)blogging as NMC in early 2008 on the Folo blog, (with coblogger Lotus); that blog went on hiatus in March, 2009. In 2005, I covered Fifth Circuit cases for the (now defunct) Appellate Law and Practice blog.

It was a quiet week at the MS Supreme Court (decision list 7/2/09)

There was essentially nothing in the Mississippi Supreme Court decision list this week.  In an opinion by Justice Lamar, the court unanimously reversed a court of appeals affirmance of a summary judgment for an insurer on a vanishing premiums life insurance case.

Also, effective July 1st, the court has amended the appellate rules; now, they want the electronic copies of briefs on PDF and not word processing files, and they will except them on either CD-ROM or flash drive.  They similarly changed rules so they can get transcripts on PDF.
